2010年3月14日，張璐的出現，是首次起用女翻譯。當時的張璐，由于現場流利地翻譯古詩詞“亦余心之所善兮，雖九死其猶未悔”，受到觀眾和網民的熱捧。清華大學外語系主任羅立勝曾評價“我覺得她翻譯得很好，的確是國家級水準。”
 
　　《離騷》詩句“亦余心之所善兮，雖九死其猶未悔”，許多網友發現張璐的翻譯有很巧妙的地方，“漢語習慣說‘九死’，英語一般要死上thousand times（一千次）才夠。”認為張璐把“九”翻譯成“thousand times”非常貼切，猜測她是出身名門，飽讀詩書。
 
2011年3月14日，兩會記者會上，現任中國外交部翻譯室英文處副處長張璐流利地翻譯溫家寶引用的古詩詞，隨后受到眾人追捧走紅網絡。發布會第二天，網絡上就出現了“總理背后的女翻譯家是誰”的詢問帖，張璐就此“走紅”。其微博的點擊排名甚至超過了劉翔。

3月15日上午，十二屆全國人大三次會議閉幕后（10時30分），國務院總理李克強照例在人民大會堂三樓金色大廳會見中外記者。與會人員陸續進入會場，有心的記者看到那道熟悉的倩影，都會在心里說一句：啊，又是她。

     張璐所代表的是以外交而生的一個群體：他們隨行在國家領導人身邊，忙碌而神秘；他們說忠于祖國、忠于人民、站穩立場是他們的依歸；他們說自己所從事的工作是“達其意，通其欲”，永遠有“遺憾”。外事翻譯這個古老的職業，借助現代大眾傳媒，被演繹得歷久彌新，充滿魅力。這個職業不為老百姓所熟知，但從這些女翻譯家的身上，我們看到了一個真相——知識讓女人更美，更有內涵。

【古詩詞翻譯】 
1.行百里者半九十。
張璐譯文：Half of the people who have embarked on a one hundred mile journey may fall by the way side.
譯文直譯：在百里的旅途中，有一半人會在途中放棄。
點評：“fall by the way side”在英語中是半途而廢的意思，用英語中的成語來翻譯中國古語，對接得很巧妙。
2.華山再高，頂有過路。
張璐譯文：No matter how high the mountain is,one can always ascend to its top.
譯文直譯：無論山有多高，我們都能登到頂峰。
點評：后半句翻譯得非常好。always（一直）表現出誓要登頂的堅定信念。
3.亦余心之所向兮，雖九死其尤未悔。
張璐譯文：For the ideal that I hold dear to my heart,I"d not regret a thousand times to die.
譯文直譯：我遵從我內心的想法，即使要死千萬次我也不會后悔。
點評：“九死”翻譯成thousand times（上千次），很地道。
4.人或加訕，心無疵兮。
張璐譯文：My conscience stays untainted inspite of rumors and slanders from the outside.
譯文直譯：我的良知純潔沒有污點，不管外界的流言飛語和造謠中傷。
點評：如果把my改成one"s會更客觀一些，總體來說用詞非常好，把握得恰到好處。
5.兄弟雖有小忿，不廢懿親。
張璐譯文：Differences between brothers can not sever their bloodties.
譯文直譯：兄弟之間的分歧，是無法割斷他們的血脈親情的。
